Goods delivered to a farm in France - invoiced in Switzerland

We have delivered some goods in France to a private address and the goods were invoiced to Switzerland, do we have to charge VAT (Farm in France has no VAT number)or is there a way of avoiding charging VAT to our customer in Switzerland? Thank you
